BLOSSOM, Peru, La Danta
Juicy, bright and fresh
We taste orange, honey and strawberry
A washed process mix of typica, caturra and bourbon varieties produced and harvested in September 2020 by a group of smallholders in the San Ignacio region of Peru
Juicy, clean and refreshingly bright, La Danta is full of zesty citrus which flows into a softly floral and sweet finish that reminds us of wild honey and strawberries. Showcasing amazing clarity in the cup, this is a complex and layered delight and one which we’re super excited to share.
A blend of coffees from 74 producers located in the highlands of San Ignacio, Cajamarca, La Denta is named after the Andean Tapir, also known as mountain Danta. The Andean tapir, an endangered herbivore, is commonly found roaming the Andes mountain range, especially in northern Cajamarca. La Danta represents for the community a more conscious coffee-producing culture that places its coexistence with nature as an upmost priority. The producers who contribute to this lot recognise and believe that by always placing nature first, they add greater value to coffee and its surroundings.
